Imagine trying to answer a test question where all the answer choices are blank. Impossible, right? Critical information is missing, and there’s no way to know which is the correct answer. I hope we can agree this makes for a lousy and extremely frustrating user experience that we want to avoid.
Yet this is exactly the experience we create for our students when we fail to include alternative text on images. Critical information is missing, and there’s no way to know how to proceed.
Next week we’ll explore alternative text in greater detail and its role in ensuring a complete learning experience for all students.
Until next time!
