OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
Passionate about eLearning!
Dr. Ginny Moore founded Chalk & Tablet in 2017 to help clients realize their eLearning goals, and make a positive impact on the overall quality of today’s vast repository of eLearning. Dr. Moore began her teaching career in the k-12 classroom, where she discovered the potential for eLearning to make education more equitable and accessible. She's dedicated the last 12 years of her career to realizing this potential by earning her doctorate in curriculum and instruction, and working with educational institutions and organizations to optimize learning in online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments.
Dr. Moore applied her diverse personal and professional experiences with her extensive library of research and lessons-learned to form Chalk & Tablet. Together with the Chalk & Tablet team, she provides clients with the support they need to transform their expertise into effective eLearning experiences.
Kara Roché is Chalk & Tablet’s Director of Custom Product Development. Before joining this small but mighty company, Kara spent more than a decade building online math courses for higher ed, working closely with subject matter experts, designers, editors, developers, and company leadership to shepherd courses from conception to launch.
With a background in math and sociology, Kara approaches online learning with a unique blend of rational analysis and the ability to put herself in the shoes of others. She loves thinking through the student perspective and evaluating how this aligns with the instructor perspective or the business goals.
Kara is a natural problem solver. Her favorite part of this industry is that thanks to changing technology, diverse student needs, and learning best practices, there’s always a new challenge to tackle.
Bree Gesswein is Chalk & Tablet’s Lead Author and Content Design Specialist. Bree’s passion for language and learning began back in grade school, where a typical punishment was the confiscation of her library card instead of no dessert. Initially on the pre-med track, it didn’t take long for Bree to realize her true calling and obtain her B.S. in Professional Writing. She hasn’t looked back since (very much a relief for the general public, as she makes a much better writer than physical therapist).
Bree’s main hobby is internally editing everything she reads and watches. In case that sounds exhausting to you, she loves it, and now she gets paid for it at her dream job with C&T. She doubts there’s a greater rush out there than reworking a chunk of text into a beautiful (and, of course, educational) piece of work. Obsessed with words and improvement, Bree approaches eLearning with an audience-first mindset. Some of her favorite questions to ask herself include: “Is this clear? Concise? Consistent? Does any of this make any sense at all?” If she doesn’t think so, she knows a student definitely won’t. Clearly, Bree has found the perfect industry to unleash her passions in.
